I was born in Plymouth, England in 1984 and have always been creative and interested in design. I grew up spending most of my time drawing cartoons and painting, but it wasn't until 1995 that I started using a computer for my creative expression. The freedom of using a computer gave endless levels of colours usage, styles and the ability to change these elements in a fraction of a second. I instantly found a love for designing with computers. I began with programs like Quark, CorelDraw and Photoshop, all very professional software at the time. These were also the first programs I went on to use in my first job designing posters for the local city council. I went to art college in 2001 picking up a foundation degree in Art & Design, and later a BA Honours in Graphic Design. In 2006 I received a 2.1 Bachlor's Degree in Music Production and Sound Engineering, as music has been a big part of my life.
However, I soon found out that having three top level degrees really doesn't matter when finding a job, especially in London. So I had to find a new way of showing my talents, so I spent a year teaching myself animation and coding. Thankfully that hard work paid off and I landed a job in London, which was the start of a new chapter of my life. In 2011 I began another journey, that would take me to Shanghai, China. I had been working with many agencies in London and the Chinese market was booming, many agenices were outsourcing work there and I was regualrly sent over to help train teams and manage production. In 2016 I set up creative agency Tango in Shanghai, a small agency but we've done well and won a few awards along the way. However, there is much more of this career left to give so who knows were the road takes me next.
